Oct. 2025: Added new story All Aboard - Leeds Buses.

Sept. 2025: Made some progess replacing or removing broken links. Added link to a 60's English teacher who wrote about his travels to the Andes and Amazon. Updated my Trainspotting memoirs (SOM Jan '24). This month's story is another article by Rev. Peter Mullen , an old boy of the school.

Aug. 2025: The site now has a security certificate, as denoted by the prefix https// in the site URL. Previously some web browsers may have flagged up a security warning. This is no longer an issue. Added footballer, Kalvin Phillips, video recalling playing on the Mushy Field on Heights Lane, with some good shots of Armley. Also a biography of Kerr Mackie , Head from 1972-78.

July 2025: Normal service has resumed after a few months' break caused by a computer failure and my being too busy with other matters and travelling to repair it. Comments and corrections are being uploaded to the site. New contributions are always welcome.

Oct 2024: Story of the month: ATale of Two Schools -Recollections of transferring directly into the 6th form at West Leeds from a very different school in the Midlands in 1959.

Sept. 2024: Story of the month - Prefects added and some updates to names and dates on 1960s photos.

July 2024: Previous story of the month, "Coronation Chicken", updated with photos of the 1953 school trip to Switzerland.

June 2024: This month's story " Non Sibi Sed Ludo" - Mike Fall's humorous recollections of school rugby and other aspects of school life in the 1950s.

May 2024: New photo of 1 alpha from the mid 60's. Date is uncertain and some names missing.

Apr 2024: Part 2 of " The New Boy" -"Bombers' Moon". Also an obit. of Michael Ullman who taught French at WLHS in the early 1970s.

Mar 2024: Story of the month,"The New Boy" is a contempoary account by an "old boy" of the school about joining his bomber squadron and flying his first mission in 1941.
