3. Broken Links
N.B. I have noticed recently
that some external links which appear to be broken when you just
<Left click> on them will in fact open if you <Rt Click>
on the link then choose < open link in a new window >. An
example is the link to old boy Sir Jeff Benson.
This site is has been online for a long
time and I am aware that many of the hyperlinks to content on the
web are now broken; i.e. Clicking on the link results in "404
error Page not Found" or similar.
We used to say that today's news is tomorrow's
fish and chip wrapping but when it comes to the internet, information
is even more ephemeral than newsprint, i.e. links to internet information
are very short-lived. ( average lifetime is 100 days).
I intend to review the site links over the next few months but I
am not deleting broken links in the meantime.
It is possible that some of the information
in the broken links is still accessible by using the internet archive
"Wayback Machine" which can be found here
